***THIS DOG IS IN MADISON WISCONSIN***
We wish that the Captain could talk, but his story is a mystery. He was found by a county animal control officer, wandering and injured. The injury was so severe that his eye had to be removed, but the Captain has not let that slow him down one bit! The shelter fortunately contacted NASRN, and we took him into our rescue program, and the Captain is looking for a home.
Despite his ordeal, the Captain is a sweet natured, happy dog. He loves being with his people, lying in the yard and surveying his territory, napping on his dog bed (he's great at napping!), and taking walks. He's house trained and, from what we've seen, enjoys the company of other dogs. He already walks on leash and knows a few basic manners commands, and is learning more every day. He enjoys riding in the car, too. And did we mention that he's quite handsome! The Captain would do best in a home without cats.
Captain is a male Anatolian Shepherd Dog, approximately 2-3 years old, 29-30" tall and 100 lbs (though still thin). He is heartworm negative and fully vetted, and will be neutered before adoption.
