Meet Theo!  He is a very handsome 1 year old male Anatolian Shepherd x Great Pyrenees mix.  We don't know where Theo came from but, considering the shape he was in when he came to us, we're pretty sure he's had a rough time in his young life.

Theo came to us with open wounds on his face and he was absolutely terrified and shut down when he was in the shelter.  He was too scared to even stand up, he had to be carried outside.  Through all of this, he never once showed any hint of aggression.  He was scared but was 100% docile with everyone who handled him.

Theo has been in foster care since mid July and he has made a considerable amount of progress. He's learned that belly rubs are good.  He no longer flinches when he is touched and he is learning to love being petted and spending time with humans.    Theo LOVES duck jerky!!  He's willing to follow you just about anywhere if you have duck jerky!

Theo did test positive for heartworms but he is asymptomatic and is being treated with the doxy/moxy treatment plan.  He has no restrictions on activity and he should test negative within 12 months.

We havent evaluated him with other dogs yet as we have been trying to give him time to regain his strength (he was very underweight) and time to trust his foster parents.  Slowly but surely we see him making progress.
