Hi, my name is Pamuk. I was lucky enough to be rescued from being a stray in Turkey and brought to the United States. I am part Anatolian Shepherd and part Akbash. Anatolian Shepherds and Akbash were first bred in Turkey to be working dogs - used to guard livestock. My instincts to be suspicious of strange animals is strong so I do not have an appreciation for other dogs.

I am very affectionate with people and will be loyal to make sure my family is safe. I am also fine with older kids. What I need is to lay around a ranch or other type of rural setting, and spend my days guarding our home - making sure no other animals come in to bother us!

If people to come to visit I will greet them with a wagging tail and welcome them in. I love belly rubs and my dog bed a lot! I am completely house trained and love being inside with you. I know sit, down and stay, and I am fine being left alone - I have never destroyed anything in the house. I ride well in the car too!

I will need a strong leader who has experience with positive training methods. I can be a little stubborn, but I do want to please you and will work for treats! I love walks, but don’t need many of them as I am very low energy - they call me a couch potato, which I don’t understand because I never get up on the couch!
