Meet Gunner Meet Gunner, a very playful and affectionate gentle giant that just wants to be loved! Gunner was rescued from an abusive situation and he is now doing very well! Gunner enjoys being in the water, running, giving hugs, and being close to people; he’s a big lap dog! Gunner takes to women right away and just adores them! As for men, he needs a period of time to develop trust, and that amount of time can vary depending on the man. He currently has a male caretaker, and it took just a few days for Gunner to warm up to him. In general, men just need to initially be respectful of Gunner’s space and allow him to come to them. We would like for Gunner to be adopted by an owner who is familiar with this type of breed. When applying you MUST have a veterinary reference that can verify you have experience with this breed or similar. In addition, because of Gunner’s past and size, we would like for him to go to a home without children or other pets, and with a large yard where he can run around. A home visit is required of all applicants. We would like to have Gunner fostered or adopted around the Baltimore area.
